The Hebrew word is "rah", bad, evil, adversity, affliction, distress, harm, hurt, naught, etc. You get the point, that doing any thing that could be said to be wicked is all from the devil. By getting you to do wicked things (sin) the devil can get you from God. Never forget the devil's purposes:
1) To draw you away from God.
2) To thwart God's purpose for your life.
3) To deny the glory of God in your life.
4) To destroy you in any way he can, including physical health, he will even use other people to draw you away from God.
So the next time you feel the devil pulling on you stop and take the time to ask these questions:
1) What are the full consequences of my pursuing this path of sin?
2) Am I willing to pay the price of those consequences if they take their full course?
3) Is this really the path that will result in my happiness, peace, and success?
As you think about all this take the time to read about Joseph in Genesis 39, and David in 2 Samuel 11. Then ask your self do you want to be like Joseph who became the 2nd most powerful man in Egypt, or like David who was not aloud to build the Temple?
The verse is Genesis 39:9. This month we will look at the word "unruly".
Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ. Gal. 1:3
